FAQ

Welcome to A.S.H.E.

Home education is a growing movement in Ashe County and across North Carolina. During the 2016-2017 academic year there were 341 registered home schools in Ashe County and over 80,000 across the state! This growth can be attributed to the desires of parents to provide the best educational opportunities for the children, develop good moral and responsible citizens and preserve and strengthen the traditional family structure.

Ashe Schools of Home Education (ASHE) promotes the common interests of homeschoolers in Ashe County and the surrounding areas. We are a group governed by Christian principles, but are open to all families who homeschool.

ASHE offers Tuesday classes at Bald Mountain Baptist Church. Classes include art, music, drama, PE, and a variety of other classes led by home school parents and members of the communities who are master of the skills. Classes generally meet September through April (excluding December).

ASHE also organizes field trips, family educational nights, Beta cub (community service) and provides homeschooling support.
